November Announcements

Fall Bike Ride
* When: Nov. 4 at 1 pm (raindate Nov. 11)
* What to bring: water bottle, small first aid kit, clothing appropriate for the weather, a bike helmet, and a bike in good working order; uniforms are not needed.
* We'll begin at Carderock, ride to Swain's Lock, then turn around and head back.
          * Information on Carderock can be found here: https://www.canaltrust.org/pyv/carderock-recreational-area/
          * Information on Swain's Lock can be found here: https://www.canaltrust.org/pyv/lock-21-swains-lock/
* The route is about 6.4 miles each way. Use your judgement on whether your child is ready for this trip. Age is less of a factor than ability to ride for several miles. A good gauge is if your child is able to ride for 3-4 miles, they will likely be able to complete this trip with a fuller effort. We will ride only as fast as the slowest rider and will take breaks as needed.

Scouting for Food Distribution
When: Nov. 3 at 9 am
* Webelos and AOLs will meet at Beall Elem.
* Tigers, Wolves, and Bears will meet at the New Mark clubhouse
* Scouts should be in full uniform (shirt, neckerchief, slide, and hat
* There are no bags this year. Instead, there are sticky notes similar to a Post-It note that we will stick to front doors.
* The pack will provide donuts and hot chocolate at the starting point for both neighborhoods.

Scouting for Food Pick Up

* Webs and AOLs will meet at Beall Elem.
* Tigers, wolves, and Bears will meet at the New Mark clubhouse
* Scouts should be in full uniform (shirt, neckerchief, slide, and hat
* We will need parents to drive the food collected back to the meeting site so we can coordinate delivery of collected goods back to RUMC
* The pack will provide donuts and hot chocolate at the starting point for both neighborhoods.

Raingutter Regatta
* When: Monday Nov. 19 at 7 pm
* Free dress from the neck up - feel free to wear pirate eye patches, bandanas or pirate hats, or whatever other nautical-themed items you choose!
* More specific info on rules for the Regatta will be included in a separate email.
* If you have not received a boat kit from your den leader yet, please contact them ASAP. The boats are not difficult to make, but they do take a bit of time (an hour or two is plenty, plus time for paint to dry)
